I am on a trip of a lifetime to visit the flower scene in Holland. I planned the trip around the un-plannable. Nature. We chose the dates of our trip carefully to coincide with the blooming flower fields covering the Dutch countryside. Sadly, the flowers came early this year and I missed the fields by a single week. At first I was heart-broken but then I realized that this is a continuing lesson I face in life. You cannot plan everything and life happens and nature has a plan of it’s own. As a result of my disappointment about the tulip fields, I think I have been embracing all of the abundant flowers everywhere else with more appreciation and attention.
These images are from our trip to the Keukenhof gardens. While the flowers were just a week past their prime, the number of varieties and the sheer size of the blooms were awe inspiring. I was completely mesmerized by the “pathway” of muscari in the above photo. It went on forever…
