Visit to the Dahlia Farm

Wednesday, August 29th, 2012

I had the great honor of being invited to Louie Figone’s flower ranch in Half Moon Bay last week. Louie gave me a wonderful tour of his 300 plus acres of beautiful land full of pristine dahlias, eucalyptus and hydrangeas. It was a great joy to see where all those beautiful dahlias come from. What a treat!

This week we’ve been seeing a lot of scabiosa and mint, which are some of our summer favorites. But, we’ve been dying over these deep luscious plum scabiosa more than anything lately.

Meet Market

Friday, August 24th, 2012

For the past couple of month’s we’ve been been part of the wonderful Meet Market event at Bluxome Winery. This month we won’t be able to be part of the event as we’ll be doing flowers for a gorgeous wedding, but we suggest that you swing by and see what all the buzz has been about. Check out Bluxome Winery at 53 Bluxome Street between 12 and 5 this Saturday!

Poppies Pods and Buddies

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2012

I am loving this color palate for summer theses days. Dahlias and roses always seem very Summery and with a  kick of poppy pods and buddies it feels fresh and playful. Just like summer! A special thank you to the wonderful Molly DeCoudreaux for taking this photo.

Oh garden roses. How I love thee. These “Claire” garden roses from Sonoma were an easy purchase. We’re in between cuttings right now so garden roses have been a bit limited so I was especially happy to find these beauties.
