Tray Schlarb is half of the husband-wife team behind Green Couch. She is an amazing designer who has become an even more amazing friend. Every time I go to Tray’s home, I am taken by how perfectly and effortlessly styled it is. It feels comfortable and lived in, yet it is also something out of a design magazine. The best kind of magazine, the kind you treat yourself to when you go on vacation. Tray’s interest in holistic living and essential oils coupled with her birthplace of Africa, gives her life and home a grounded touch. Read on to learn more about Miss Tray.
1. What was the most influential year in your life so far? What made it special?
Having children! Knowing what a true miracle growing a life is and the knowledge a woman’s body has in the birthing process. Having my daughter at home beside a hundred plus year Magnolia tree was one of my proudest moments.
2. What do you collect, and what do you think it says about you?
I collect hearts from around the world in stone, wood, clay & other materials. A reminder that LOVE is everywhere and definitely makes the world go round!
3. Whether big or small, what was the last trip you took?
Home to my beloved South Africa with my family.
4. Who is someone that inspires you?
At this moment: Louise Hay 86yrs author of ‘You can heal your life’ A constant reminder to live in the present, to forgive others and love yourself unconditionally.
5. Happiest memory involving a certain floral?
My wedding day 14yrs ago. I had a ridiculously huge and heavy ball bouquet of roses that almost toppled me over.
